Welcome, I'm Sneha Gaikwad (she/hers). I'm an art therapist and licensed professional counselor with a passion for making art with things that seem like they should not be art. I'm also a child of immigrants, a cat mother, and nature-loving trail runner. Intersecting identities are important to me as BIPOC therapist, and I hope to create a safe space to hold all of yours. I feel grateful that my job is to connect with people in genuine and authentic ways through counseling. As your therapist, I will always do my best to be present with you and engage respectfully while also bringing in a strong sense of humor.
I received my master's degree in art therapy in 2016 from the George Washington University in DC. I started my career by delving into medical art therapy with children. From there, I developed my passion for community-based counseling in homes and schools. In 2021, I decided to open my own practice in Denver and balance my passion for clinical and community work.
I believe in reducing barriers to mental health care and counseling for those with marginalized identities. I am holistic in my approach and address systemic influences on identity, relationships, and functioning. I explore all intersections of identity such as but not limited to culture, race, sexuality, gender, age, ability, immigration, and socioeconomic status. I create a safe place for you to express yourself and experience vulnerability in a restorative space.
*I am not accepting new clients until February 2024 due to maternity leave*
